Shikata Mixed Martial Arts is a combative mixed martial art. It's focus is on self protection through offensive and defensive moves and techniques. Shikata Mixed Martial Arts is not a traditional martial art. It was developed to be a FREE-FORM of mixed martial arts. Shikata Mixed Martial Arts training focuses on teaching simple self-defense techniques specifically catered to reality based attack situations to bring students to a high level of proficiency in a short period of time.

Shikata Mixed Martial Arts is considered to be a modern, highly refined, street fighting system, designed to be used against armed and unarmed attackers. Shikata Mixed Martial Arts addresses a wide variety of aggressive acts which include punches, kicks, chokes, bear hugs, headlocks, grabs, grappling as well as defenses against multiple attackers and assailants armed with a firearm, edged weapon, or blunt object. Shikata Mixed Martial Arts training stresses the ability to react when surprised.

Shikata Mixed Martial Arts includes specialized techniques and training methods to not only challenge students physically by reacting effectively under stress, but to also instill a focused mental discipline with the ability to deal with intense stress.

The student is expected to BLEND in other styles and methods into the Shikata Mixed Martial Arts system when achieving the rank of Black Belt.

Belt Ranks: WHITE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE, RED, BROWN and BLACK
