Shauna Prewitt
Shauna Prewitt (born 1982) is an American author, attorney, and advocate.
Studies
Prewitt is notable for her research AbOUT pregnancy from [...]. She estimates that between 25,000 and 30,000 American woman are impregnated during [...] each year, and 8,000 to 11,000 of the victims choose to raise their child.
Prewitt has supported Senate Bill 253, which allow courts to disregard parental rights for men found guilty of raping the child's mother. New Hampshire is one of 15 states that allow, but don't require, termination, and another nine states allow termination without convictions.
Personal life
Prewitt graduated from the University of Chicago in 2004, and received a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2009. She is currently a practicing attorney in Chicago.
Prewitt has claimed that while she was a 21-year-old college student, she was raped. She discovered that she was pregnant, and gave birth to a daughter in October 2004. After a lengthy court battle, the child's father's parental rights were terminated.
