Shashank Shah

Dr Shashank Shah, is an Indian laparoscopic bariatric surgeon. He is the first and only Indian to be president of 3 societies at same time. He is currently President of Obesity Surgery Society Of India (OSSI), IEF (International<nowiki> Excellence Federation, India Chapter)] and AIAARO (All India Association for Advancing Research in Obesity). He is also member of ASMBS, IFSO, SAGES, IHPBA, APHS.

He is a laparoscopic expert, director of Laparo Obeso Centre India, which is a centre for treatment for obesity and metabolic diseases. He holds Limca book of records for performing 45 hernia operations in just 10 hours in 2006. He started the first comprehensive bariatric training program in India for surgeons, thousands of surgeons from Asia and all over the world have been trained till now. His Bariatric training centre is running for last 10 years. He was invited to share his experience AbOUT the Sleeve gastrectomy in all 4 international consensus summit ( ICSSG) held in New York from 2007 to 2012 and he is the only Asian-Indian surgeon to do so. He is editor and reviewer for many international publications.
