Sharmila Rahman Sithi

Syeda Sharmila Rahman Sithi is a Bangladeshi public figure known for being the spouse of Arafat Rahman, a prominent cricket administrator and member of one of Bangladesh’s most influential political families. Arafat Rahman was the younger son of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

Personal life

Sharmila Rahman Sithi was married to Arafat Rahman. The couple had two daughters. After Arafat Rahman’s death in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 24 January 2015, Sharmila lived abroad for several years with her family.

In late 2025, she returned to Bangladesh from London for personal and family reasons, including support for her ailing mother‑in‑law, Khaleda Zia. Her visit was covered in national media as part of family gatherings.
