Sharis GmbH is German based e-commerce outsourcing company providing software solutions for companies throughout Europe such as AOL, Gigaset Communications, Deutsche Telekom and BP. Its commerce transactions are mainly B2B and B2C.

History

Sharis registered itself as a company in October 2007 but fully commenced operations after its merger with Product + Concept, a company that worked in similar fields until it ended operations in 2007.. In 2010 Sharis extended its business into English speaking markets with the launch of its website in English and extended support in this language.

Products and Business Description

The cornerstone of Sharis's operations is its Business Logic electronic commerce platform which is used to tailor make online shops for its clients, many of which are leading companies in Europe and the rest of the world in their various fields. In this respect Sharis deals mostly with B2B transactions but since it supports the operation of the shops continuously it also deals with consumers directly and as such also operates on a B2C basis. The companies which deals with (see below), outsource the online trading part of their businesses to Sharis which is known as business process outsourcing. This can improve the clients' profits by outsourcing parts of their business to other companies with more expertise in operating online shops as well as freeing up their other employees to focus on other aspects of the company's operations. In addition, online shopping brings a range of advantages to a company. First and foremost it can hugely increase profits by increasing the amount of customers a business can reach, secondly it can reduce overheads in terms of fewer staff and the centralisation of operations by reducing the number of sites at which the product is to be advertised or sold. Sharis focuses on these aspects in designing its online shops, using its unique Business Logic platform to achieve its goals.
