Shar (Baloch tribe)
Shar is a Baloch tribe settled in the Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab provinces in Pakistan.
The Shar tribe is a sub clan of Rind Baloch. Jato married her cousin Murad Khan Rind, son of Jalal Khan producing the new tribe. Their ancestors were from Shori Shar (Balochistan). They migrated from Balochistan due to war with Buladi tribe. The Shar tribe took part in the Battle of Talpur against the British. Thangwani and Suhrbani are the chief clans of the Shar tribe.
Many Shar live in Khairpur Mir's, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Larkana, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Nawabshah and Sukkur Districts. They also have a presence in Jacobabad, Badin and other districts of Sindh. The Shar baloch community is the most rapidly growing community inside Khairpur district, especially in Thari Mirwah (taluka of Khairpur).In Thari Mirwah there are many villages of Shar Comunity. Haji Muhammad Malook Shar @ Dehdano ,Mengho Faqir Shar, Haji Mehar Faqir Shar, Sikandr Abad[named on Shar Sardar Faqir Sikandr Ali Shar]. In the Khairpur district the main clans living are , Thangwani, Maswani, Qaimani, Salhiani, etc. There is a saint named is Faqir Ghulam Haider Godryo in village Haji Mengho Faqir Shar, which was a great saint and poet.
The Chief sardar of Shar tribe is Sardar Fakir Sikandar Ali Shar (Sajadahnashen Dargah Fakir Ghulam Hyder) from Mengho Fakir Shar.
