Shane Stover
Shane Stover is a visual artist. His artwork includes painting, illustration, concept art and 3D modeling. He has been recognized for his ability to capture the true likeness as well as the energy of his subject. Stover said: "I paint people primarily because people are alive and have emotions. I try to capture these emotions: excitement, wonder, happiness, or sadness, and amplify them through the way the subject is presented. Hopefully the viewer can relate to these things."
Childhood and Early Career
Stover was born on December 11, 1981, in San Luis Obispo, California, to Shelby and Vicki Stover. He has one brother, Clint Stover. He developed an interest in art at a young age and began his professional career while still in his teens. By the time he graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 2000, he had earned multiple art awards, scholarships, and completed many commissioned pieces.
In college he continued his education in the arts. Whilst in college in 2001, he had his first solo exhibition in his hometown of San Luis Obispo. Stover received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (Art and Design major) from San Francisco State University in 2004.
Following his graduation from college, he moved to Los Angeles to further develop his art and fulfill his lifelong dream of working in the entertainment industry. In Los Angeles, he produced artwork that included props for movies, commercials, and television as well as completing commissions for movie posters and concept art.
