Shalom Hammer
Rabbi Shalom Hammer is an orthodox rabbi, author, writer and lecturer. He currently serves as a writer for The Jerusalem Post and a lecturer throughout the world and in the IDF and the founder of the "makom meshutaf" organization. Rabbi hammer lives in Israel with his wife and six children.
Biography
Rabbi hammer was born in Queens, New York and grew up with his parents and three siblings in Monsey, New York where he became very close to rabbi berel wein. He graduated high school at MTA. He then went onto study in KBY yeshiva in Israel for two years. After his two years in Israel he went onto study at yeshiva university, there he graduated with a degree in speech. He also received his rabbinical "smicha" from rabbi herschel schachter. In 2014 he founded the "makom meshutaf" organization where he goes out to lecture to the Israeli secular kibbutzim in order to help them understand the importance of being Jewish . He highly disagrees with religious coercion. He considers himself a liberal orthodox rabbi. He serves as a lecturer for the IDF and is one of 7 lectures for the IDFs "Machon meshutaf" organization for Jewish identity.
