Shagufta Baig

Shagufta Baig (born April 8, 1988 in Thane, Mumbai, Maharashtra) is an Indian voice actress and Radio Jockey. She has been ACTIVE in the entertainment industry since July 2006. She can speak English, Hindi and Urdu fluently and has also dubbed for foreign content, regarding her voice acting skills.

Dubbing career

She is known to be the voice of Jessie (Musashi) in the second Hindi language dub of Pokémon produced in-house by UTV Software Communications for Hungama TV and aired on May 19, 2014. Her colleagues who worked with her in the 2014 dub were also Nachiket Dighe (Voiced Ash Ketchum (Satoshi), and he also voiced Tracey Sketchit (Kenji) in the first Hindi dub), Rucha Dighe (voice of Misty (Kasumi)), Uplaksh Kochhar (voice of Brock (Takeshi)), Rajesh Shukla (voice of James (Kojiro)) and Saumya Daan (voice of Meowth).

She has been dubbing movies into the Hindi language since 2006 (South-Indian Films as well as many series of English language TV programs in Hindi like Game of Thrones, True Blood, Veep, etc.) She usually dubs for main female protagonist roles into Hindi and she's also a Radio Jockey with 107.1 FM Rainbow since 2006. In addiiton, she's even been Hindi dubbing for Tamil and Telugu-speaking leading ladies such as Trisha Krishnan, Hansika Motwani, Raima Sen And Taapsee Pannu.

The First 8 seasons dubbed, were based on the 4Kids Entertainment English dub. The later seasons were also dubbed in Hindi and are also revised translations based on the English dub. A Second Hindi dub has been produced by UTV Software Communications featuring a new Hindi voice cast and translation and aired on Hungama TV. Shagufta Baig was involved in the second Hindi dub as the voice of this character. It is unknown who voiced the character in the original dub, which was produced by Sound & Vision India.
