Seoul Digital Forum

Seoul Digital Forum (SDF) is an annual high-end, international conference on all that is digital, held in Seoul, South Korea. Each year the event brings together the world's most innovative and influential leaders in business, government and academia to explore the current ProgresS of The New digital revolution and to collaborate in shaping our digital futures.

First established in 2004, the Seoul Digital Forum is a non-profit conference organized and hosted by SBS, one of South Korea's largest television and radio broadcasting companies.

Recognizing that being prepared for the future is crucial in staying ahead, the Seoul Digital Forum launched in 2004 under the theme “Value Reshuffling Digital Convergence: In Search of New Opportunities" with discussions on digital convergence and focused on the question of how businesses can strengthen their competitiveness.

To this day, SBS works diligently to host these annual conferences in a timely manner, addressing the issues and trends affecting our society and industries. In 2005, the SDF theme was“Quo Vadis Ubiquitous: Charting a New Digital Society" and in 2006, it was themed "Intelligent Technologies: The Next Digital Evolution."

The Seoul Digital Forum's objective is to:

  • Share insights on the future digital world.
  • Enhance knowledge and understanding of political, economic, social, and cultural implications arising from the rapid development of digital technologies.

Seoul Digital Forum 2007, opened under the theme "Media Big Bang! Impact on Business and Society," offering a platform for the world's top media leaders to share and discuss the effects and implications of the new media revolution, led by the growth of information technology. Among the highlights of SDF2007 was a special opening day speech by Eric Schmidt, Chairman & CEO of Google, and a special program, Hollywood in Seoul, which kicked off it's first year with a special speech by Anne Sweeney, President of Disney-ABC Television Group.
