Seifuku Densetsu
Seifuku Densetsu (known in the U.S. as Pretty Fighter) is a Japanese fighting game released on the SNES. The game features 8 fan service-friendly girls. The sequel to the game is Pretty Fighter X had 12 girls and it was released on the Saturn. Both games of the Pretty Fighter series were referred by some fighting game fans a knock-off to Street Fighter's success worldwide.
The Characters
Marin Aoki
Considered the Ryu of the Pretty Fighter series with more of a resemblance to Sakura. Marin is a normal school girl in a sailor uniform. Her best friend Saki was attacked by thugs and Marin quickly disposed of them.
Jyuri Akasaka (Juri)
To counteract Marin, Juri is the Ken of the series. She works the daytime as an OL, but at night she goes to nightclubs dancing the night away in a dancer's uniform.
Ai Momoyama
Ai is a gymnast who plans on excelling to the top. She loves to train and keep herself focused. She loves bananas and hates boys who take voyeur photos of her at inconvenient times. Ai's gymnastics routines like rhytmic and callisthenic are used in her fighting moves.
Keiko Konno (Kei)
Kei is a policewoman who delivers justice with a blazing fury. She carries around her standard police gear when she's fighting or chasing after criminals.
Minami Midorikawa
Minami is a young girl who goes to a private school. She is Marin's friendly rival like Karin is to Sakura. She hates homosexuals.
Ryoko Kiori (Ouryo)
Ryoko, or Ouryo as she likes to be called, is a college student who loves doing traditional Japanese customs.
Kris Shiratori
Kris is a bubbly nurse with pink hair and a cute disposition. She works at a hospital and handles her duties as a doctor and a nurse. While fighting, she uses doctor's equipment to her advantage.
Yawara Yamabuki
Yawara is a martial artist who wears a judo uniform. Similar to Makoto, Yawara plans on establishing herself as the strongest fighter.
Sorami Shizaki
Sorami is a young stewardess who travels around the world. She quickly disposed of hijackers during a flight. She's also a teatotaller, meaning she doesn't drink any alcohol. She was added to the list in Pretty Fighter X.
Shizuka Minakami
Shizuka is a high school teacher who is arrogant and domineering. She comes dressed in a white laboratory coat when she goes into battle. She was added to the list in Pretty Fighter X.
Tokiko Tsuchiya
Tokiko is a waitress at a restaurant similar to Anna Miller's. She had an encounter with a hooded thug and quickly took him down. She was added to the list in Pretty Fighter X.
Maria Christel
Maria is a Catholic nun in a traditional habit. Maria is the evil mastermind in Pretty Fighter X and is the lighter equivalent to Vega/M. Bison. She loves to pray and hates computer technology since it distracts her from her religious beliefs.
Fan Service
As you play either one or both of the games, many fan service elements come into play, like different costume changes after certain wins and panty shots from certain moves except Ai's.
Trivia
- The clock tower stage in Pretty Fighter X is set to the user's real time clock that can be set on the Saturn's menu.
- Marin's signature attack "Blue Sailor Punch" is taken from blue sailor, a [...] reference where people can buy used girls' panties in Japan from vending machines and shops.
