Sea Duck (Tale Spin)

The Sea Duck is a fictional 2-engined flying boat/seaplane in the animated series TaleSpin. The airplane (which is named a fictional "Conwing L-16" model) resembles a Grumman Mallard (first built in 1946), but with twin booms, such as the ones found on The p-38 Lightning. The wings and rear section Appear to have been sketched from the Hughes XF-11. The plane's primary colour is a light Yellow, with a red nose section and pontoons. Baloo has made his own modifications to it, such as upgraded engines (referred to as "Superflight 100s"), an overdrive on the engines that can propel it at a very high rate of speed (but the overdrive was burnt out in the pilot, Plunder and Lightning), flaps on the front of the wings so he can dive at the water and pull up at the very last second, and numerous food and bottle storage spots in the cockpit. It is supposedly the fastest plane in Cape Suzette. In the pilot, "Plunder & Lightning", the Sea Duck was almost completely destroyed and all that remained was the cockpit, half the right wing and the starboard engine. Rebecca Cunningham had the Sea Duck salvaged and rebuilt after The crash. Although throughout the run of the show it had its fair share of close calls, the plane has not had another completely destructive accident since that night. In the episode "Whistlestop Jackson, Legend", the Sea Duck was remarked by Baloo to be "20 years old".
