SBOTS (State Bank Officials Training Scheme)
SBOTS is one of the three entry programs of State Bank of Pakistan. SBOTS carry the objecive of developing a highly competent input for the future leadership development of the Cental Bank. SBOTS carry a rigorous process of evaluating and selection; one of the toughest and most comprehesive in the industry The minimum entrance requirements are 1.Masters or 16 years education 2.At least 60% marks or 3/4 CGPA 3.Age under 28
Selection Process The Candidates have to go through a three phased process
- 1.Initial Test
- 2.Group Discussion
- 3.Panel Interview
The test consists of three sections
- 1.English 40 Marks
- 2.Mathematics 30 "
- 3.GK/CAff/INT 30 "
Test A total overall score of 60% is required with individual scores in the 3 sections not below 50% The usual drop out ratio is usually in 90%s range; an indication of the toughness of the test.
Group Discussion In this phase the successful candidates are called for a group discussion where they are assigned a general topic to discuss among each other in the groups of ten for 5 minutes. In this phase the selection ratio is usually 2, 3/10 depending upon the performance of the individual. The persons who score above 60% in this task head for the final phase.
Interview This is the final stage where the candidates are interviewed by a panel of experts, usually includes Directors, Executive Directors and Deputy Governors. Here the drop out is AbOUT 50% and the rest is the absolute cream that is selected for State Bank of Pakistan.
