Your Concern Could Mean a Miracle!!

On a misty cool morning an old man was running slowly along the sea shore. He was fat and because of his big tummy, it was really hard for him to lean forward. Though, in the middle of his run, he picked up something from the sand and threw it into the sea. Seeing him repeating this, a young man followed him curiously and asked, “What are you doing?” The old man turned around and smiled at him. “Cant you see, I was saving the life of some starfish”, the old man replied. The young man followed him again and found he was busy picking the little star fishes got deposited in the dry sand and throwing them back into sea before they die. The young man astonished and asked again “Oh! This is quite strange, there are a lot of fishes you see here and the world does not change if you save only a few of them!” The old man again picked up a small fish and replied to the young man. “Yes! You are absolutely right. The world does not change if I save only a few of them. But the world of that starfish changed a lot!” saying this, the old man started running and repeated what he was doing earlier!!

You can’t change the whole world. But your little acts of kindness can bring some positive change in this world. Don't hesitate to offer it even if you think it is least important.

About Sathkruthi

'SATHKRUTHI' is a Registered Social Welfare Organisation which was started in December, 2006. Its aim is to unite people from different walks of life to work for a cause; a cause that would better the society for the next generation to live in. Sathkruthi translates into "a Good Deed"; and that is the organisation's main objective. A drop from Swami Vivekananda's ocean of teachings formed the inspiration to start SATHKRUTHI. In life, occasions arise which call for concern, selfless service and sacrifice. But the difference lies in realizing and rising to those occasions. It is a matter of time, resources and a big question, How to do it? Though sacrifice is a very big word to be used in this context, contribution to the community in the form of service would be an easier job.

“We can do no great things, but only small things with great love.”

   Need can have various meanings/interpretations, but everyone deserves his/her most basic ones to be met with. A small gesture can bring a big smile on one's face. SATHKRUTHI always welcomes cooperation and a united effort in achieving something; anything for the benefit of another deserving human being.

“We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone.”

   It's all well and good to think that “you do a good deed and good things happen to you automatically"--"Karma" which would be an apt word to describe i.e., holding the door open whole-heartedly without expecting any returns for someone who is really in need is what matters.

Aims and Objectives of the Organisation

  1. To contribute towards the development of India and to transform it into a powerful nation by supporting and offering service to the needy.
  2. To provide education aid to orphan and poor children.
  3. To enhance the capabilities of the young minds by organizing socio-cultural development programs.
  4. To aid the development of self-morality among the children.
  5. To provide selfless, voluntary, non-discriminating service to the people.
  6. To establish welfare projects and to assist, affiliate and establish connections with other institutions having similar objectives (and/or help them in providing aid to the people who are in need).
  7. To instil sense of service in students and youth.

Events Organised

Since 2006, monthly events are being organised by Sathkruthi. More than 50 events have been organized till now, which would include:

  • Donating note books for the Government school students.
  • Teaching the blind students.
  • Teaching the Government school students.
  • Providing blood units for no cost in the twin cities.
  • Organizing blood donation camps in colleges and residential areas.
  • Organizing scribes to help taking the examinations by the blind students.
  • Donating utensils, clothes to the flood victims and many more.

Sathkruthi has started serving the community by teaching music to the blind students of Devnar School for the blind, Hyderabad. The president who is a vocalist has taken up this profession from the year 2004 which has continued till recently. With this inspiration, Sathkruthi has organised a blood donation camp in a residential colony in 2006 and collected 67 units of blood. Later on, many events have been organized in the city which reflects the sustainability and the strong principles associated with the organization.

List of Some Events

  • Setting up of more than 15 blood donation camps in different places.
  • Provided more than 5000 units of blood in twin cities which include rare blood groups like AB-, A-, B- etc.
  • Maintaining the database of the blood donors.
  • Donating note books to five Government Schools in the last three years.
  • Organizing cultural events with the blind students as performers. The main motive behind these events is to provide the opportunity for the disabled, to motivate the graduate students in lending a helping hand for the disabled ones.
  • Sponsored two teachers for the Govt. School Shamshiguda last year.
  • Sponsored a music teacher at Devnar school for the blind for 5 years.
  • Offering medicines to Sivananda Rehabilitation Centre and other services. This particular rehabilitation centre has more than 600 patients who are suffering from Tuberculosis, Leprosy and HIV.
  • Provided Telephone (coin box) telephone and other related services to Devnar School For the Blind.
  • Members of the organization presented themselves as scribes for many examinations to help blind students of Nethravidyalayam Jr college, Devnar and other degree colleges.
  • The organisation has quickly responded for the needs of flood victims and worked jointly with other organisations like ARROW, SAHASRA and VIRIDHI to provide utensils for cooking in Yapthapur, Mahaboobnagar.
  • Collected and distributed a truck load of clothes to the poor, rehabilitation centres, orphanages, old age homes. The members have spent about 4 months for this event.
  • Providing food grains in and around the area of Kukatpally, Hyderabad which have been identified by Sathkruthi organisation as economically backward areas.
  • Providing career counselling to students from rural areas.
  • Helping in providing facilities to Vagdevi Educational Society which is an orphanage with nearly 100 students.
  • Organising events like Mathrudevobhava, Pithrudevobhava, and Acharyadevobhava jointly with Jeeyer Education Trust. This has been done to incorporate values into the young students.
