Satcom Direct

Technology advancements have allowed satcom systems to be reduced in size, making them very popular on a variety of airplanes. From the cockpit to the cabin, and pilot to the VIP, customers now have satcom options that were not available in the early days of aeronautical satellite communications. These choices determine the voice, internet and/or flight deck communications options for the aircraft mission. Groups that are serviced by Satcom Direct range from personal to aviation to military and government agencies.

Services

Satcom Direct supports more than ninety percent of all corporate flight departments by working closely with both the Inmarsat and Iridium networks. Various Inmarsat ground earth stations support different services. Satcom Direct configures each satcom system to match the Inmarsat service to assure reliable Inmarsat global mobile to fixed and fixed to mobile communications. Satcom Direct also works closely with Iridium offering the equipment and airtime necessary to maintain communications for private aviation. Working with Iridim, Satcom Direct allows aviation users to send and receive voice, messaging and data regardless of their positions on or above the earth: air-to-land, land-to-air and air-to-air.

Global One Number

Satcom Direct is the only provider of 10-digit dialing to multiple locations and systems onboard your aircraft. It was originally developed to simplify the process of reaching an aircraft and to eliminate the many variables associated with connecting to an Inmarsat terminal.

Today, Satcom Direct’s Global One Number is known throughout the aviation industry and we have expanded its use to include connectivity to multiple services such as Verizon, Iridium and even high-speed voice calls via Inmarsat’s Swift64 service – all through a single 10-digit number.

Aero X

Satcom Direct developed a patent pending Aero X solution that delivers extreme speed for corporate jet travelers requiring a higher level of in-flight aircraft Internet usage. This patent pending service compresses data creating a more efficient use of bandwidth.

Secondary Services

Satcom Direct also provides a website Satcom Store where they sell satellite phones and satellite phone plans, satellite broadband equipment and stellite broadband plans and lastly satellite modems.

Satcom Direct has also integrated with Flightops1.com - a scheduling, quoting and management system featuring direct, web-based communication solutions between flight departments on the ground and pilots in the air.

FlightDeck FreedomTM, an in-flight datalink communications service that allows customers to choose their own satellite communications provider. FlightDeck FreedomTM service includes pre-departure clearances, digital ATIS, text and graphical weather, flight plans, flight tracking, text messaging and faxing.
