Sarrara
The Sarrara are a tribe found in the Hazara Division of the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan.
History & Origin
They connect themselves with the Dhund Abbasi and the Tanoli tribes, which also found in the Hazara Division. According to of their traditions,they say at some time they came from Pakpattan in the Punjab. The tribe is classed as Sahu and inter marry on equal terms with Dhund Abbasis.
According to another tradition, they are a clan of the Abbasis tribe, although not part of the Dhund tribe. Sarrara was one of twelve son of Akber Gai Khan, the ancestor of both Dhund and Sarrara tribe.
Akber Gahee Khan was son of Zarab Khan who came to Kashmir as General of army on the command of Qutab Shah, on signing a treaty with King of Kashmir and marrying his daughter he was on way back when he went to a saint in Kahuta, who asking him to pray for a child of him. The saint asked for promise of staying at the place in reward for a pray for child birth. The Child who took birth was named as Akber Gahee Khan, Akber Gahee Khan married and twelve son took birth named as;
- Kahonder Khan ( forefather of Dhund Abbasis)
- Tanoli Khan (forefather of Tanolis in area of Tanawal and Amb Durband)
- Chajjar Kanal
- Salal
- Agar Khan
- Kool or Koor
- Hakim Khan
- Sarrara ( forefather of Sarrara Abbasi living in Pattan and Kukmang)

Distribution
This tribe is met with only in Boi tract between the Thandiani range and Kunhar river in the Abbottabad District. They are found mainly in Pattan Kalan and some areas of Kukmang Union Council.
