Sanjoy Deb
Sanjoy Deb, born December 18, 1991, is a music producer, DJ, and stage performer based out of California. He gained international popularity in mid-2011 when he released his remix of Chammak Challo, the first single of Ra.One. The remix charted the top 20 free MP3 downloads on AmazonMP3.
On November 11, 2011, Sanjoy Deb released his second dedication track, Love the Pressure.
Biography
Sanjoy Deb was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh until 2005 when his family immigrated to the United States. He graduated from Evergreen Valley High School and currently attends De Anza Community College. He has learned various percussion INSTRUMENTS such as the tabla studying under gurus in California and abroad. While in high school, Sanjoy gained experience as a producer by creating tracks such as Give it to Me for an independent music group named High Rize Ent.
Making of a Pioneer
As he progressed through high school and junior college, Sanjoy began to apply his talents in the college dance team circuit, gaining him widespread credibility as a remixer. In January 2011, Sanjoy co-founded Kunal Agarwal Productions with Kunal Agarwal to establish a name with which the duo could release productions for the University of California, Berkeley desi dance teams. After the advent of the duo in the scene, Kunal and Sanjoy proceeded to release a series of music videos to showcase their inspirations for music and video. By tapping a displaced Indian market around the world, Sanjoy Deb was able to release effective East meets West electro-Bollywood music that the younger generation desired. This began with Chammak Challo, a highly popular track which has transcended above 400k views on YouTube and over 50k downloads. After Chammak Challo, Kunal and Sanjoy teamed up again with Neeraj K to release a cover of Imran Khan tracks Hey Girl & Bewafa ultimately titled Love the Pressure.
