Sanatan Cricket League

The Sanatan Cricket League (SCL), also referred to as the Sanatani Cricket League, is a charity-based cricket tournament in India that blends sports with the cultural and spiritual principles of Sanātana Dharma.

Founded to promote social welfare and spiritual unity, the league involves teams led by well-known Hindu spiritual leaders. The primary purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for disaster relief, especially for families affected by floods in northern Indian states such as Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural edition was held in 2025.

Background

The league was founded by the Sanatan Nyas Foundation, under the patronage of spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur. It was conceptualized as a medium to inspire youth engagement, encourage compassion, and emphasize that spirituality extends beyond rituals into active community service. Donations collected during the event are used to provide essentials such as food, clothing, and emergency supplies to disaster-hit regions.

2025 Edition

The first edition of the Sanatan Cricket League took place on 18 October 2025 at the Noida Cricket Stadium, Uttar Pradesh, beginning at 9:00 AM IST. Entry for spectators was free, with voluntary donations encouraged for relief initiatives.
