Samuel Owokoniran
Samuel O Owokoniran Samuel (born june 24, 1974) is a Nigerian Christian preacher, author, also currently the Pastor –in – Charge of The reedemed Christian Church of God (Our God Reigns Assembly Area under the FCT Province3 Abuja Nigeria), Samuel is currently the Team Leader, Public Sector Group 2 and Head, Federal Public Sector– Collection North in Mainstreet Bank Limited Abuja Nigeria.
Early life and history
Samuel Olusegun Owokoniran was born on the 24th of June 1974 in Odan Itoro, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State Nigeria into a Christian family of Mrs. Florence Modupe & Mr. Moses Adisa Owokoniran after a long time of waiting for the fruit of the womb as the first child in the family of 12.
Samuel Olusegun Owokoniran gained admission into University of Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria in 1994 to study Mathematics (Pure and Applied) but by divine re-arrangement he was later re-admitted in the same University to study Statistics. He gave his life to Christ in December same year during the Welcome Service and induction programme organized for Freshers by the Christ Apostolic Church Students Association (CACSA) under the then National President Professor Bisi Ogunsina. He later became the Compound Pastor of the Association for the next for 4 years of his stay in the University.
His resolute enthusiasm for soul wining despite great persecution for Christian’s fellowship from the School Authority moved him and his prayer partner Bro Dele Ajala to form and pioneer the Unilorin Tracts Club which focused on printing and making available free distribution of Tracts and Christians materials for soul wining from their small stipends in 1996. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in Statistic and later had his one year mandatory National Youth Service Scheme with 3 Armourd Division Military Cantonment Rukuba, Jos in Plateau State as Medical Record Officer/Biostatistician for the Military Hospital.
During his NYSC Programme, he worked as Assistant Coordinator of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Angwan Rimi a relatively rural community in the suburb of Rukuba Village where Outreach Programmes were held for rural dwellers for soul wining, free distributions of relief materials and free medical programmes on quarterly basis. He also collaborates with the Nigerian Corpers Fellowship on Rural Rugged Evangelism and welfare outreach for the indigenes of Zaranda Village in Bauchi State.
After a season of working with different denominations in the country as a Choirmaster, Evangelist and Teacher, he later joined The Redeemed Christian Church of God in 2004 where he rose through the rank and file by the Grace of God to become an Area Pastor in the Mission today. He is currently the Pastor –in – Charge of Our God Reigns Assembly Area under the FCT Province3 Abuja. He has used this platform to help a lot of people in needs to stand to their feet to the glory of God.
Education and Career
Samuel is currently leading a Team in the Federal Public Sector of Mainstreet Bank Limited as well as the Head, of Collection North Bank of the same Bank. This position came shortly after his brief role as the Chief Consultant of Microbits Consulting Limited based in Abuja. He was formerly the Head, Collections Group of United Bank for Africa Plc Nigeria North. A responsibility that has taken him throughout the Northern States including FCT, meeting key Private and Government functionaries in his bit to increase their Revenue generation through electronic platform.
With over 15 years experience as a successful Banker in various key positions with different Banks within the Nigerian Financial space, out of which 9 years was spent driving Governments and Private Sector revenue collections business activities for the Bank, no doubt, he has all it takes to bring the expected innovation and creativity require in any Organization with specific focus on revenue generation. Indeed he had contributed immensely to the current transformation we are seeing today in automated revenue generation system in Nigeria.
Pst. Samuel Olusegun Owokoniran in 2004 had additional Master Degree in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and a PGD in Theology from The Redeemed Christian Bible College in 2008. He is a prolific Writer, Motivational Speaker with special focus on Leading innovation and Change, self driven, hardworking and highly cerebral individual who believes in honesty and Team work is a Member of Nigerian Institute of Management and a Fellow Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria.
Christian ministry
Sam is currently the Pastor –in – Charge of The reedemed Christian Church of God (Our God Reigns Assembly Area under the FCT Province3 Abuja Nigeria). For his significant and enduring contributions to the body of Christ, Nigerian Economy and humanity in general, the Board and the Senate of Community Bible Institute & Seminary, Brooklyn New York, United State of America awarded him a Doctorate Degree in Divinity in May 2014.
Family life
He got married to Deaconess Ijeoma Peculiar Owokoniran, an Educationist per excellence in 2004 here in Abuja and they are blessed with three children – Praise Abiola Owokoniran, Precious Adeola Owokoniran and David Damilola Owokoniran.
