Sam Kantimathi
Sam Kantimathi (from El Dorado Hills, CA) is an American Scrabble player. He is an aerospace engineer by profession.
His achievements include:
*Winning the Gold Medal in the Philippines Invitational in 1997, ahead of World Scrabble Championship veterans
*Awarded "Best Strategic Play" in the US Nationals in 1998
*Won the Brand's Crossword Game King's Cup in 1994 and was twice the runner-up
SamTimer
The SamTimer is a popular digital clock used in tournament Scrabble and manufactured by Sam Kantimathi. The SamTimer was launched in the mid-80's to fill the void for a clock created specifically for Scrabble. Scrabble clocks are similar to chess clocks but need a range of features unique to Scrabble; SamTimer was the first to provide such features. In 2005, the SamTimer became available in colors other than beige.
The cheaper and lighter Pocket SamTimer was launched in 2003.
