Salih Sarıkaya
Salih Sarıkaya is a Turkish journalist and writer based in Istanbul. He is employed as lead social media editor of Zaman Newspaper (Turkey's best selling daily) He worked as senior defence and security correspondent formerly. He writes blog for Today's Zaman.
Early life
He graduated from Uludag University with a Bachelor's degree in education and metalinguistics. Sarıkaya studied Master's degree at Fatih University in sociology. And he also studied Master of Advanced Studies at Istanbul University in social policy and social studies.
Career
He began his career as an editor in chief of a literary magazine Edebiyat Konağı. His poems published on Sızıntı litrary magazine. He then started Zaman Newspaper, Turkey's best selling daily. He worked as defence and security correspondent in time of deep state trials in Turkey. He has specialised in writing about [...], defence, financial crimes and drugs. Sarıkaya has covered all the major investigations in Turkey including Coup Plans like Ergenekon(Deep State Organization), Balyoz (Sledgehammer Coup Plan). He has also written about Turkish [...] policy and international developments. He also worked as war correspondent in Syria during Syrian Civil War. His works also published in Today's Zaman an English daily in Turkey and Aksiyon Turkish weekly news magazine. He was tried in 33 separate cases because of his writings. He wrote a book analysing Turkish media; 'Lies, Slanders, Distortions: Neo-28 Feb Coup Putschist's Lie News File Holder’. He knows Turkish (native), English (advanced), German (conversant), Arabic (basic) and Kurdish (basic).
