Safiaal

The Safiaal Rajputs , also spelled Sufial. Sufiaal) are a Muslim Rajput tribe of Jammu and Punjab provinces of Pakistan.

Safiaal Rajputs are muslim rajputs of Rajouri, Jammu. They were titled 'Malik' from the Mughal Throne for their bravery and services for the Mughal empire army.They were Hindus came from Punjab Haryana, where they were called "Malkana Rajput". Mughal emperor Akbar gave the title of "Malik" to this clan of Rajputs. They were given preference in Akbar's army and were deputed on the crossing points of Kashmir Valley on high reaches of Pir Panchal. Later on they embraced Islam. This clan is located in higher points of Rajouri District at the foot of Pir Panchal. The place is known by the name of this Rajput clan as "Darhaal Malkan". They have also settled in other districts of the state like Doda, Poonch, Valley of Kashmir, some villages of District Rajouri. Some of them moved into Pakistan at the time of Partition but majority still lives in Darhaal. They speak Pahari.
