Safford Police Department (Arizona)

Fallen officers
Deputy Constable James Haines was shot to death in the line of duty on August 26, 1879. Deputy Haines was killed by a man he was attempting to arrest. He had been sent to Fort Thomas to arrest J. R. Collins on a warrant. Collins and two other men were arrested. After an inquest, the [...] charge was dropped as it was ruled justifiable.
