S. J. Michaels
SJ Michaels (born Michele A McMullan, Belfast, Northern Ireland, 1956) is a writer, and author of Summary Justice, Dieback and The Heir.
Personal Profile
Born in 1956 Michele grew up as a Roman Catholic in Andersonstown, West Belfast. Andersonstown was a major centre of civil disturbances during the 1970's and 1980's and Michelle experienced first hand many conflicts between local residents and the British army.
Michele married in 1977, and converted to become a Presbyterian. Michele and her husband had three daughters. Following a divorce in 2003 Michele went on to re-marry.
Career
Michele had always expressed a keen interest in writing. Her first published novel, Summary Justice, was published in 1989. Dieback was published in 1992 and Michele's last novel, The Heir, was published in 1996.
In addition to writing Michele has also carved out a very successful career in the voluntary sector in Northern Ireland.
