Rugged Maniac Results
This page lists the winners of Rugged Maniac, a 5K obstacle course race which has been running since 2010.
History
The very first Rugged Maniac race was run in 2010, in Southwick, Massachusetts, where they hosted over 2000 participants. In 2014, they were featured on ABC's Shark Tank and secured a $1.75 million deal with Mark Cuban, the billionaire entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks. As of 2015, their inaugural Southwick (New England) event has grown to over 12,000 runners spread over two days. In the results, some locations have a two-day event with two separate races, thus two winners are displayed.

Race times are subjective to courses, structure of obstacles, and terrain. Some courses May Be more difficult than others due to location and obstacles.
Notes
Rick Copley, fitness gym owner of "No Limits" gym in Florida, won twice in 2011, competing in both the New England and Florida variants of Rugged Maniac.
Kyle Oakes narrowly missed out on a 3rd consecutive win in 2014, losing to Piotr Dybas in Virginia. Dybas, one of Virginia's best distance runners and the winner of the very first Rugged Maniac in Virginia, went on to win the next two Virginia races to be the reigning champion going into 2016.
Lauren Casavant, a New England trainer and coach, participated in both consecutive race days in Southwick, Massachusetts to win her 3rd and 4th consecutive top-female medals, in 2014. Casavant currently holds the most number of race wins at Rugged Maniac of all male and female runners, at 4 total wins.
Yuri Force, a runner from Georgia, known for his Immense success in Savage Race, won back-to-back Rugged Maniac titles in Atlanta, 2013-2014. Another runner from Georgia, Jeremy Shirey, claimed the Atlanta title in 2015. Force did not compete in 2015.
California
Lea Stretch and Glenn Racz burst onto the Rugged Maniac obstacle course race scene in 2014 and won back-to-back races in Northern and Southern California, respectively. They also set the course records for 2014 and 2015. Glenn Racz is a Yancy Camp sponsored elite runner and is currently working towards competing in American Ninja Warrior. Lea Stretch is an elite obstacle course racer sponsored by 6 Pack Fitness.
In the Northern California Rugged Maniac 2015, Stretch narrowly beat out second place finisher Nichole Root by three seconds. Four months later, Root would again place second in Spartan Race Temecula, narrowly edging out Rugged Maniac SoCal 2015 female champion, Faye Morgan.
Spartan Race Temecula 2015 for male elites was a showdown of former Rugged Maniac champions Veejay Jones (SoCal 2013), Glenn Racz (SoCal 2014, 2015) and Ian Deyerle (NorCal 2015). Veejay Jones prevailed against the other two runners, in a highly competitive race.
