Ruff Wear Performance Dog Gear is an manufacturer of canine outdoor gear in Bend, Oregon.. Founded in 1994 by Patrick Kruse, Ruff Wear, Inc. was incorporated in July 2000. Their products are now found in more than a 1,500 retail locations worldwide, with continual domestic and international growth.

The first Ruff Wear product, the original Quencher collapsible bowl, made its retail debut at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1994. Since its release in 1994, Ruff Wear has grown to include a full line of canine products to enhance and inspire dog-friendly outdoor adventures, including harnesses, dog packs, lifejackets, dog boots, collars, leashes, and dog beds.

As part of their philanthropy to promote use of outdoor spaces for humans and canines, Ruff Wear donates time and money towards the preservation of open lands and waterways (conservation movement) by partnering with The Conservation Alliance. Additionally, Ruff Wear works with regional grass roots organizations to create opportunities to strengthen the BOND between humans and their dogs through an ACTIVE lifestyle. Ruff Wear is a member of the Outdoor Industry Association.

Ruff Wear was named to Outside magazine’s third annual, national “Best Places to Work” list in April 2010 and ranked No. 41 out of 50 selected companies.

In addition, Ruff Wear's corporate social responsibility was recognized by Oregon Business Magazine as one of the “100 Best Green Companies to Work for in Oregon” in June 2009.
