Roots&Choice (sometimes referred to as Roots & Choice or Roots and Choice) is research services division of Work Movement Organization, a social enterprise headquartered in London, United Kingdom.

Businesses, universities, nonprofit organizations and governments worldwide utilize Roots&Choice research. All profits from Roots&Choice services entirely fund Work Movement's technology driven innovative social impact projects that create opportunities worldwide in the areas of work (employment), education and healthcare for people who do not have access to these opportunities.

Objectives

Through Roots&Choice research activities and technology development, Work Movement Organization aims to achieve equality and economic development at a global scale. Besides producing research, Roots&Choice division of Work Movement also functions as catalyst for the efforts of governments, research institutes and commercial companies concerning technology innovation and social impact. In an interview at Cocoon, Hong Kong based organization that supports entrepreneurs, Co-Chair of Roots&Choice, Paramjeev Singh Sethi cited organization's mission as 'equally dedicated to bringing AbOUT positive social impact to the community, as well as guiding international institutions their way to contribute whilst expanding businesses'.

Roots&Choice carries out research activities in the areas of social impact, intellectual property, patents, business strategy and economic policies. They also conduct research on social impact and foreign policy topics for their parent non-profit organization Work Movement.

History

Roots&Choice is the 'Research Services' business of the British based Work Movement Organization Limited. Headquartered in London, UK and with places of work in New York, Hong Kong and New Delhi, Work Movement Limited is a global organization engaged primarily in three areas:

  • Economic development and equality through social impact projects such as teaching classes for underprivileged children in China, and producing a feature film that helps to psychologically uplift orphan girls in India, Coopist.org, and similar projects.
  • Technology Transfer
  • Research services under Roots&Choice brand. Research services are provided to businesses, universities, non-profit organizations, and governments across regions worldwide by research teams consisting of engineers in various areas of sciences and business professionals. All Work Movement social impact projects are entirely funded by the profits earned from the Roots&Choice research services business.

Strategy Research Council (SRC)
SRC is focused on helping business institutions to meet strategy, corporate development and business development goals.
Intellectual Property Research Council (IPRC)
IPRC conducts research in intellectual property, patents, technology research and development, innovation and technology transfer areas for businesses, universities and research institutes.
Social Impact Research Council (SIRC)
Best Impact Practice (BIP) Report is a bi-annually published research journals focused on addressing business management and social impact solutions, initiatives, processes, tools, and frameworks that help business institutions to address the problems that they share in common with their peer companies. Strategic Impact Practice (SIP) is a research & strategy project that Roots&Choice conducts for business institutions to help them achieve business goals by helping society in diverse areas such as empowerment of women, poverty alleviation, child education, etc., aligning with companies' business strategy.
Work Movement Equality Projects
