Robert Paczków

Robert Paczków is a Polish sumo and greco-roman wrestler turned mixed martial artist who has competed for Cage Rage.

Biography

Robert started training in greco-roman wrestling in 1981 at the age of 11. He represented Poland in many European and world championships, before taking up sumo in 1997.

Sumo

Paczków is a two-time world champion in amateur Sumo (2001 in Amori, Japan and 2002 r. in Wrocław); a three-time European champion; and has won over thirty medals in European and world sumo championships. He has placed first at the European non-Olympic sport games in Kiev and third in the world non-Olympic sport games in Germany. Numerous times he has been been sumo champion in Poland. He has been the winner of open tournaments in sumo in Poland and European champion (Aug. 23, 2009).

Personal Life

Paczków is the creator of the "Robert Paczków TEAM" - a mixed martial arts, sumo and greco-roman wrestling gym in Wrocław. His wife's name is Anna. He has three childern: Krystian, Klaudia, Kamila. His hobbies include sculpture and painting. His brother Marek Paczków is head of the sumo national team of Poland. His son Krystian Paczków is following his fathers footsteps and is also a decorated sumo competitor.

MMA

Paczków made his debut at Cage Rage 24, submitting James McSweeney in 2:09 of the first round.

At the end of January 2010, Paczków stated on his official website that he is in talks with KSW. His next fight is against Mariusz Pudzianowski on the May 7, 2010 at KSW 13.
