RoadkillSoda
RoadkillSoda is the most prolific stoner band from Romania. Their sound is a trippy collection of ripping solos and pounding drums, heavy bass and a wicked voice, fast-paced and intense, so it can get the heartbeat racing. Old school with a twist, 1970’s rock and roll influence with a dash of grunge. A perfect amalgam of elements that can get you high, and then let you come down with the next riff. The type of sound that makes you step on it when you’re driving straight to nowhere. RoadkillSoda is not your average band. Nor are they a group who pay special heed to a metronome. Instead, they groove forward with the only guide being their feeling.
The band opened Exit Festival's Main Stage in 2016, played at Wrong Fest (2016), Fuzztastic Planet Festival (2014), Thessaloniki Tattoo Convention (2014) and co-headlining with Slash (musician) & Myles Kennedy (2015), Nick Oliveri (2015), Billy Idol (2014) Karma to Burn (2016, 2013), Planet of Zeus (2014/2016), Black Tusk (2014), UfoMammut, 1000mods, Crowbar, Elder, Mos Generator, Graveyard, The Vintage Caravan, Nightstalker, Tides from Nebula and Tuber among others.
In 2016, RoadkillSoda joined House of Broken Promises, the band risen from the ashes of Unida - the once highly touted stoner rock powerhouse led by vocalist John Garcia post-Kyuss, on their European tour, playing in Bulgaria and Greece.
History
The group started off as a jam session in a cold, dimly-lit room filled with smoke and music blasting through the walls. As you’d expect. Later that year, as spontaneous as the entire project, the debut EP "A [...] Up Trip Gone Bad" pops up, which was basically a live recording from the rehearsal room and was released in 2011, via Asiluum label.
Oven Sun
In less than a year, the band wrote, recorded and produced the first official album, "Oven Sun". From mirages and oasis to the burning sun and the endless desert, the album envisages RoadkillSoda's quintessence. The album is played loud and it's just a blast from start to finish, and one that will leave a huge smile on your face, especially with the summer months starting to show. "Oven Sun" is expertly played and produced by all involved. Romania is not known for its stoner rock scene, but with this album RoadkillSoda put a light on it, bringing the genre to everyone's ears.
Yo No Hablo Ingles
In 2014, RoadkillSoda released „Yo No Hablo Ingles". The album consists of 18 tracks, it comes in a double CD volume and it has been recorded studio live, using only vintage gear. On their first LP, RoadkillSoda created a theme and stuck to it. But that’s not the case with „Yo No Hablo Ingles". This album shows that RoadkillSoda cut their imagination loose, refusing to be limited by any sort of concept, idea or standard, continuously exploring and experimenting.
Space Echo and Time
In 2016, and after a year full of activity – 2 new videos, some member changes and lots of gigs – RoadkillSoda released its first-ever acoustic album. A limited-edition one - "Space Echo and Time" - that has 3 previous released songs and 5 new ones. "Space Echo & Time" is RoadkillSoda’s 4th album and it was recorded in a mountain cabin with Tudor Scanteie from Negative Core Project producing and mixing. The album has quite a dirty southern rock feel to it. RoadKillSoda have a lot of soulful blues running through their music which may surprise long-time fans of the band. Obviously this being an acoustic album, you will miss the band's signature heavy thunderous sound which they used so well on their previous albums.
Mephobia
Mephobia is RoadkillSoda’s album, launched in November 2017. Mephobia is a strong cocktail of several rock genres, leaning heavily on stoner rock and grunge. The standout feature on the album is the psychedelic/stoner based jams, mixed with various variations of vocals, from punk-styles to classic grunge. A song that sees the band playing different styles of Desert/Stoner Rock but with a more progressive edge is DIP, that has a more classic nineties sounding grunge feel with the band enjoying themselves more than any other song on the album. From the catchy riffs and to-die-for solos, groovy bass lines and pounding drums, to the killer vocal lines, the album has the kind of vibes that will make fans hit the “repeat” button.

Cleopatra Records featuring
At the end of 2016, Los Angeles-based independent record label Cleopatra Records released a 6-CD box set featuring the biggest modern heavy hitters and the most relevant stoner rock bands from around the word. RoadkillSoda’s "Oven Sun" was featured on Cleopatra Records' heavy grooving compilation, alongside well-known bands such as Saint Vitus, Pentagram, Dead Meadow, Cancer Bats and Nightstalker, making RoadkillSoda part of the new generation of groovy and appreciated stoner rock bands.
Endorsement
RoadkillSoda is a Monster Energy drink official band and official endorser for Jim Dunlop/MXR guitar products and signed with Universal Music Group in 2014 for "Yo No Hablo Ingles" album.
Touring
2017 caught the band on A Tour consisting in 15 cities all over Greece. The tour, RoadkillSuperstars, was organized by Made of Stone Productions, a Thessaloniki-based collective and independent label promoting heavy sounds, run by Christos Papanantsidis.
