Rishon Blumberg

Rishon Blumberg (born May 30, 1969) is a technology, entertainment, and nonprofit entrepreneur. He has co-founded three companies - Brick Wall Management, , and - with Michael Solomon. He also helps administer The Kristen Ann Carr Fund for cancer research and serves on the advisory board of Musicians on Call.
With Solomon, Blumberg co-authored his first book, (HarperCollins Leadership; September 22, 2020).
Blumberg delivered the talk at TEDxFultonStreet in Manhattan in 2015.
Early life and education
Blumberg was born on May 30, 1969 in New York City. He graduated from the Wharton School of Business with a degree in entrepreneurial management in 1994.
Early Career
Blumberg began his career in concert promotion, first at Nederlander Concerts and then at Delsener/Slater Enterprises, which later became Live Nation. In 1995, he co-founded Brick Wall Management with Solomon, a music management company that marketed and shaped the careers of John Mayer, Citizen Cope, Vanessa Carlton, William Fitzsimmons, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, The Clarks, Eddie Berman, Martin Sexton, Marc Broussard, Charlie Mars, Ari Hest, Christopher John Campion and others. In 2007, Brick Wall expanded its roster to include songwriters, producers, and directors including Marshall Altman, Michael Counts, Jarett Bellucci, and Adam Landry and entertainment consulting clients including Young & Rubicam, The Rock Boat, Jon Landau Management, Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain, Natalie Merchant, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Human, The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, and Miramax.
Brick Wall helped produce John Mayer’s music film, Any Given Thursday, which was certified platinum, and produced TV specials including Operatic Heat for PBS. Brick Wall’s roster has won four Grammy Awards and 12 nominations, two Emmy Awards and multiple nominations, and sold over 10 million albums, including multiple platinum and gold records. Blumberg also produced the film .
Entrepreneurship
10x Management
In 2012, Blumberg co-founded with Solomon and a third partner who exited the company in early 2016. Regarded as the first talent agency for tech professionals, 10x was positioned as an exclusive resource for companies seeking the most coveted freelance tech experts.
Blumberg has since become a thought leader on addressing the challenges of the tech talent shortage and the future of work, including as author of the 2016 article in the Harvard Business Review, in Nasdaq, , and the cover story of the Summer 2017 edition of the Wharton Club of New York Magazine.
10x Ascend
In 2019, Blumberg co-founded 10x Ascend with Solomon, a stand-alone company whose sole focus is to represent senior level tech talent who had received W2 employment offers in negotiations on salaried compensation packages. 10x Ascend’s representation ranges from direct involvement in negotiations to advising prospective hires on specific aspects of the negotiation process such as counter-offers. 10x Ascend created a free lifestyle calculator designed to help people identify and prioritize lifestyle goals such as salary, job logistics, and work-life balance with a view to informing negotiations with prospective employers.
Other Entrepreneurial Endeavors
In 2015, Blumberg and Solomon became strategic advisors and investors in TestNotice, a web platform that assists drug courts and testing centers manage their programs while increasing compliance and improving user experience on both sides of the marketplace.
In 2010, Blumberg and Solomon partnered with Bruce Springsteen to create the first official app for Springsteen fans.
In 2013, Blumberg and Solomon partnered with filmmaker Josh Franer to produce My Body Belongs to Me, a short film that educates children and parents about child sex abuse. As of May 2020, the film has been viewed over 612,000 times.
Non-Profit Boards
Blumberg helps administer The Kristen Ann Carr Fund, which provides grants for cancer research and seeks to improve all aspects of cancer patient life with an emphasis on adolescents and young adults. He also serves on the advisory board of the Fund’s sister organization, Musicians on Call, which brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.
Personal
Blumberg has been married since 1998 to award-winning doctor Dr. Isabel S. Blumberg, MD, and together they have two sons. In his personal time, Blumberg enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, running and playing tennis. Blumberg lives in New York City.
