Rikanatti

Rickey Parham, better known by his stage name, Rikanatti, is an American Hip Hop Record Producer from Chicago, Illinois and is signed to Ca$his's management team, Bogish Boy Management and Eminem's Shady Records. He has worked with artist's such as Cory Gunz, Rick Ross, Game, Busta Rhymes, King Los, Problem and more. He also graduated from Chapman University and currently lives in Orange County, California.

Career

Rikanatti first linked up with Shady Records back in the end of 2005 but, but actually linked a deal in 2006. He was represented by Theo Sedlymyer at the time and he also represented Eminem, Paul Rosenberg and 50 Cent. He was in a rap group called The Renegadez and they had some recognition. They had flown out to New York to take meeting with Def Jam, Sony and J Records. They were really close to signing a deal with Def Jam but they were able to get a meeting with Shady Records. Dart Parker, the head A&R at Shady liked the music but was not 100 percent sold. Him and Ca$his grinded it out and came up with 50 to 100 songs literally that they submitted to them and proved themselves to them as artists. Shady signed Ca$his as an artist and Rikanitti to an 8-song production deal.

“Talkin All That”, was the first track Eminem ever mixed for him, and it was also the first song he ever heard of his played on radio. “Do it all”, was the first time he had ever been in the studio with The Game, so that was also big to him. "Miss Jenkins", was the first track he co-produced with Eminem so that was a big moment to him. But he said, the record that stands out to him the most is “Serenade My Life”. It wasn't the biggest record he's ever done but its one of the best to him. Rikanatti has absolutely no limitations when it comes to making beats. He connects with artists because he does music from the heart and not for money. He literally sits down to work and whatever comes to mind is what he starts with and he tries to switch up as much as possible. When he starts the beats it the melody first more often but he's no slave to making music a certain way. Nine times out of ten when he works with live musicians he starts with drums first because it’s usually easier for musicians to play with a drum track. So it just depends on what what trying to create.
