Richie Gardner (baseball)

Richard John Gardner (born February 1, 1982 in ) is a minor league baseball pitcher for the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Minor league career

Gardner was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 6th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft. He began his career in the season with their Single-A Advanced Potomac Cannons and finished up with their Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. In , he remained with Chattanooga. He was sent down to the Reds' Rookie League GCL Reds in , but was promoted to the Single-A Advanced Sarasota Reds later in the season. He started the season in Sarasota, before being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga and then the Triple-A Louisville Bats.

Prior to the start of the season, Gardner was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers organization and was assigned to their Triple-A Nashville Sounds.
