Richard Rios

Richard "Rick" Rios is a conservative political activists who has worked with several state and national organizations to promote small government, lower taxes, and minority rights. Richard Rios was elected chairman of the California chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly in 2008.

Personal History

Richard Rios is one of three sons whose father, Jess Frank Rios, immigrated to the United States from Mexico. Richards mother, Susan Diane Roland, is the granddaughter of Superior court judge George K. Scovel.

Richard's grew up on ranches in Bowie, Arizona where is father served in law enforcement as a patrol officer with the Department Of Public Safety.

Humanitarian Work

Richard Rios was part of a six member Calvary Chapel Chaplain team that was the first to be admitted into New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The Chaplain team went on to establish a community relationship with the city of Bay St. Louis, Louisiana where a Christian missions network continued to feed thousands in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

In 2008 wild fires broke out across Orange and Riverside counties in southern California. Richard Rios help coordinate Calvary Chapel disaster relief efforts with local city and county governments to provide food for the first responders.

Education

After graduating from high school, Richard went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic in Pomona.

Richard continued his education at National University where he received a Masters degree in Electronic Commerce and Marketing.

Richard put his doctoral studies at Capella University on hold in late 2007 to concentrate his efforts on electing Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee as the Republican Party nominee for the office of the President of the United States. He served as Senator Fred Thompson's California Political Director.

2003 - Appointed to the Brea, California Housing Board.

2004 - Appointed to the Brea, California Senior Advisory Board

2007 - Reappointed to the Brea, California Housing Board

2007 - Political Director, Senator Fred Thompson presidential campaign

2007 - Elected president of the Yorba Ranch unit of the California Republican Assembly.

2008 - Elected California state chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly.

2008 - California State Faith Chair, Senator John McCain presidential campaign

2008 - Elected Orange County California Republican Central Committee Member
