Reef catchments

Reef Catchments is the leading natural resource management group in the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.

Reef Catchments focuses on the creation of environmental projects which compliment State and Federal objectives and beyond. They take a lead role in facilitating on-ground environmental change and work for sustainable and successful long-term solutions to the region’s natural resources - land, water, biodiversity, coasts and marine assets.

Projects which are created by Reef Catchments ensure close involvement with the community and partnerships with local council, state and federal government agencies and also the private sector. The goal is to ensure our region’s natural assets are improving in condition through programs such as Reef Rescue, Project Catalyst, Coast & Communities, Island Arks and many others.

Their vision is to enhance natural resources for a sustainable community and to work collaboratively with the community to improve the condition of natural resources while sharing in their derived benefits.
