Redwood Plastics

Redwood Plastics was started in a garage on Redwood Street in Vancouver in 1971 by Duncan and Graeme Fraser. Today, there are nine branches in North America and it is a member of the Redco Group of Companies as well as Prisma Plastics International.

Here is a timeline of events since Redwood Plastics has opened:

1972 Acquired the assets of a urethane manufacturer & machine shop in Burnaby BC.

1974 Started a UHMW compression molding facility for extrusions and molded products.

1975 – 1978 Developed new products in Redco UHMW/PE: Chain flytes, chain channel & wear strip.

1978 Pulp safe Synsteel was developed.

1980 Developed Urethane Sprockets for the sawmills and idlers for mill chains.

1980 Developed Redco 750XL, a self-lubricating Polyurethane for bearing materials.

1990’s Acquired Nylacast USA – a casting facility for Nylons and moved it to Everson WA.

2000- 2004 Developed Tuffkast, Stik-UHM, and Redco SPS-2000.

2006 Became an alliance member of Prisma Plastics International
