Radiation safety sign
In our everyday life, we are exposed to many sources of radiation. No matter how careful we get, we are exposed to a portion of it. The radiations that we are talking AbOUT here are the result of our day to day activities, be it computers, microwaves or the like, what can we do to avoid them. Well all one can do is to be on guard and avoid over exposure.
Areas exposed to Radiation
Medical Zones
The radiation exposure that we come across, at our homes is nothing as compared to the radiation that one might face in ones workplace. For instance, if you belong to the medical fraternity and are a radiologist, then there are chances that over the period pf time you might be affected by radiation. Thus, it is always advised to keep the general public away from the X-Ray, so as not to jeopardize the life of people and avoid exposure. These places need to be very carefully marked as Radiation Zones so that people can be careful when they venture in such areas. Also when it comes to treating cancer, many a times the patient is exposed to treatment of cancer through the use of radiotherapy, here too there is a high risk of exposure to radiation.
Research & Development
Biomedical & Pharma research involves sterilization to the highest degree. This is where radioactive rays come to the researchers rescue. But then these zones are hazardous, so we need to keep a check on the levels of exposure. Same goes for areas where space research is going on. Here too, care has to be taken to keep high levels of sterility. Thus these zones need to marked hazardous zones.
Nuclear Reactor Zones
These areas are very highly exposed to radioactive elements. These are hazard zones for the all the people workers working here. Thus it is very necessary to mark these areas as "Prone to radioactive elements" or "Prone to Radiation".
