RADI RiverMap [[UAV]] is a series UAVs that includes both the fixed-wing and rotary-wing UAVs, all of which are
developed by [http://www.goodcenter.cn/ Zhejiang Chinese Academy of Science Space Information Technology Application Center (浙江中科空间信息技术应用研发中心)], a joint venture setup in December 2010 by [[Jiashan County]] government and the [http://english.irsa.cas.cn/ Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI, 中国科学院遥感与数字地球研究所)] of [[Chinese Academy of Sciences]] (CAS).<ref>[http://www.jc.ac.cn/jg.asp?AID=830 RiverMap manufacturer]</ref> As its name implies, RADI is specialized in [[remote sensing]] and digitization of maps, and UAV development is something brand new to it,<ref>[http://www.81tech.com/sell/201210/27/sell25278.html RADI expertise]</ref> so RiverMap developer chose a safe and quicker route by utilizing [[commercial off-the-shelf]] (COTS) system wherever possible, and modify them to specifically tailor these UAVs for remote sensing and aerial survey missions by incorporating its own remote sensing and aerial survey subsystems, which are its expertise. As a result, RiverMaps series UAVs look visually identical to other Chinese UAVs externally, and in terms of hardware, there are only minor dimensional and permformance difference among the UAVs sharing the same COTS airframe.
