Rack N Road

Rack N Road is an American based business that sells vehicle accessories via the Internet, and 10 stores in California, Washington and Utah.

In 1991, Greg Bauer and cousin Glen Bauer decided that there was an untapped market for hauling items such as bicycles, skis, and motorcycles with their vehicles. At the time, the Bauer's decided to call their new venture Sports Rack and had a tiny shop located in Redwood City, California selling mostly ski, snowboard and bike racks for vehicles.

As the company grew, the group decided to move the business beyond just racks and carry a variety of other vehicle accessories such as hitches, cargo boxes, pet barriers and trailers. With this new direction came a new name for the company. In 2005, the group officially launched Rack N Road and currently has an inventory of 7,200 products per store.
