Pure Barre
Pure Barre is a total body work out that burns fat and tones the body. Pure Barre's is work out that was created around ballet, Pilates and weights. It was created by choreographer Carrie Rezabeck in 2006.
Founder
The founder and sole owner of Pure Barre is Carrie Rezabek. She received her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University then went onto law school at Wayne State University. She opened her first studio in Birmingham, Michigan. She is also the ambassador for Luluemon for the San Diego area.
The Experience
Pure Barre has four steps to working out: warm up, thigh work, seat work and ab work. It has been said to be the hybrid of ballet, Pilates and standard aerobics-class weight training. It starts with light weights, then moves onto the ballet bar for a series of movements that are designed to tone the abdominal and derriere muscles.
Other Experiences
A lot of people prefer not mixing aerobics, Pilates and weight training. Aerobics is a system of physical conditioning designed to enhance circulatory and respiratory efficiency that involves vigorous sustained exercise, such as jogging, swimming, or cycling. Pilates improves your mental and physical well-being, increases flexibility, and strengthens muscles. Weight training is for improving or maintaining overall fitness, strength, or endurance. And ballet is a classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement and by elaborate formal gestures, steps, and poses. Because that is a large variety of different things, a lot of people do not like combining them.
Pure Give
Pure Give is Pure Barre's charitable foundation that was founded in 2007. Pure Give works with the Dove Self-Esteem Fund that helps educate and inspire girls to think differently on the term beauty. The Dove Self-Esteem Fund's mission is to continue to provide the tools and support to individuals, groups and organizatioins.
