PS 11
P.S. 11, Public School 11, orThe William T Harris School is a public elementary school that is in Chelsea, Manhattan located on 320 21st street and eighth avenue. The building was erected in 1924–1925. The school is grades kindergarten through 5th grade and also some preschool classes. The school has five stories, and a basement with a swimming pool. It also has a roof which can be used for physical education class, a playground located outside on the second floor, dubbed the 'little yard', for the younger children, and a playground on the ground floor, dubbed the 'big yard', outside. The school's colors are yellow and blue.
PS 11 is featured in a scene of Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous and No Reservations, where it is prominetly featured as the school the character Abigail Breslin plays.
The Clinton School for Writers and Artists
Above PS 11, on the 5th floor (and three classrooms on the fourth floor) is the public junior high school the Clinton School for Writers and Artists, from grades 6 to 8. It specializes in Creative Writing and Art, but also Drama and Musical Theatre. There are about 300 students in the school. It has shared a building with PS 11 for about 25 years, before it was located Uptown in the neighborhood Clinton. The Clinton School has its own gym and a roof in which the students play on. The school's mascot is an eagle.
