Provincial Council election 2026

7th Provincial council elections is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in 2026 to elect all members to the nine provincial councils in the country. Over 15 million Sri Lankans are eligible to vote in the election.

This is the 1st time the elections will be held after 12 years of absence since 2014. Provincial Councils was governed by the governors, since the election act was amended and the act was not passed in parliament.
