Process Runner
Process Runner is an SAP automation tool that was created by Innowera.
Process Runner's main function is to allows one to download and upload data from Excel to SAP or vice versa without writing ABAP programs.
Process Runner can automate upload and download to most:
- SAP Transactions,
- SAP Business APIs (BAPI) or SAP Remote Function Modules (RFM)
- SAP GUI Scripting
While there are many Excel to SAP upload tools out there in market, Process Runner seems to be only one that does all 3 kinds of SAP automation (i.e. Transaction, BAPI, GUI Scripting) in one package.

- Built in Excel book which could be useful for recordkeeping and sharing the data with process
- Enterprise Sharing to share your work with the team
Process Runner supposed to works in all the SAP modules and with most new dimention products.
Process Runner May Be used for data upload, download, cleansing and conversion from Excel to SAP and from SAP to Excel. It could also be used for creating test or prototype data loads.
From managerial perspective, Process Runner could free up ABAP and BASIS resources since they will not have to write upload/download programs and transport them across the SAP landscape.
Like with any other SAP automation tool, it could improve response time for correcting or loading data. Usually end user or data owner is made an executor. Since they will no longer be dependent on ABAP or BASIS resources and will not be subject to normal but rather tedious release process, it could improve response time to the data related issues.
