Prescott cardinals

The Prescott Cardinals are the athletic team from the town of Prescott, Wisconsin. They are the only athletic team in the small town of only 4,222 people. The Cardinals have been a member of the Middle Border Conference since 2002, and used to be a member of the Dunn-St. Croix Conference. They have recently won state titles in baseball (2012) and in dance (2013). They have produced two Division one athletes, and one professional athlete. Nick Jacobsen and Nick Schommer both went to play football for the NDSU Bison and Nick Schommer then moved on to play for the Tennessee Titans. Their most successful team by state titles would be the dance team. They have gone undefeated in Pom for fifteen years in a row.

Notable Players

Nick Schommer was an athlete from Prescott, WI who played football for the Cardinals. He was recruited to the NDSU football team during his senior year at Prescott. He received a full ride scholarship to play. He played Safety on defense. He received First-team-GWFC in 2007, the First-team All-MVFC in 2008, and he received Third-team FCS All-American in 2008 as well. He was the drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2009 draft. He went in the 7th round and was overall pick number 242. Nick Jacobsen was another player from Prescott, WI. He was also recruited to play football for the NDSU Bison. He was recruited for the defensive end position. He was red shirted his freshman year and didn’t play in any games. He has since transferred to University of River Falls, WI. He currently plays football for the Falcons and is starting nose guard.
