Porter Gale

Porter Gale is a professional public speaker, social media expert and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience working in marketing, advertising and independent filmmaking. She has been a keynote speaker at numerous events including The Economist Forum, Ad Age Digital Forum, Real Estate Connect, the Think Conference and more. From 2007 to September 2011, Gale was the Vice President of Marketing for Virgin America.

Early life and education

Gale has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University and a Masters in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University. In the independent film world, she has produced or directed documentaries that have aired on Lifetime, PBS, Channel 4, and in film festivals around the globe.

The project that launched her filmmaking career was "2Chicks, 2Bikes, 1Cause" (1998) a multi-media campaign that included a 5,000 mile bicycle trek that was documented and turned into a 66-minute documentary to educate young women AbOUT breast health. The successful outreach effort raised over $100,000 for breast cancer organizations and taught many young women about breast health.

Gale's film work has been honored by the Directors Guild of America, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Filmmaker Magazine.

Career

Virgin America

Gale joined Virgin America in October 2007 to manage the Brand and Online Marketing, In-flight Content and Loyalty teams. Her work has been featured in numerous press outlets. She was awarded the "Changing the Game Award" by the Advertising Women of New York, along with a spot on AdAge's Digital Hotlist in 2011.

Additional Experience

Prior to Virgin America, Gale was a consultant for clients including Country Music Television, Blue Shield of California and Delta Dental.

She also held the post of General Manager at Kirshenbaum BOND Senecal + Partners where she worked with companies such as VEGAS.com, Coach, Snapple Natural Beverages, Van Cleef & Arpels, Judith Leiber and Grand Marnier.

Recent Activities

In September, 2011, Gale left her position with Virgin America. She is currently on the advisory boards of the following companies: WePay, Zuberance, Rocket Fuel, Jamah and Fuse Corps.
