Pokemon in India

Pokemon is Japanese series that was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995. Pokemon also have a Japanese anime television series, part of The Pokémon Company's Pokémon media franchise, which premiered in Japan on April 1, 1997, on TV Tokyo. In India Pokemon series first broadcast was on Cartoon Network on 2003. In 2011 Pokemon was moved to Pogo it's sisters channel. In 2016, Disney India have brought the Pokemon rights and started broadcast from season 1. In August 2016, Disney XD (now Marvel HQ) started re-run of episodes that have already aired on Hungama TV. At present Pokemon is broadcasting on Hungama TV and Marvel HQ.

History

Cartoon Network

Pokemon in India was first broadcast on Cartoon Network. They has started aired Pokemon with season Indigeo league on 12 May 2003. In late 2003 they had aired Pokémon: Adventures in the Orange Islands and completed its run in mid 2004. Cartoon network had started telecast The Jhoto Journeys and Jhoto league champions in same year 2004. The cartoon Network has completed run of Master Quest till mid of 2005. Cartoon network had also added new feed of Tamil and Telugu from Season 5 onwards on cartoon network.

Cartoon network had started Pokemon : Advanced, Advanced Challenge in 2006 and completed its run in 2007. Pokemon : Advanced Battle, Pokemon : Battle Frontier has aired in 2008.

The first two seasons of Pokemon series Diamond and Pearl series was aired in india on November 2009. The cartoon Network had skipped so many episodes of these two seasons because of unknown reason. But these missed episodes was aired in order at re-run of this season. Pokemon season Diamond and Pearl: Battle Dimension was last season that was aired on cartoon Network in early 2011.

From the season DP: Galactic Battle Pokemon has shift to Cartoon Network sister channel Pogo from this season. Pogo has broadcast Pokemon season DP:Sinnoh league victories and complete it's run. Like previous seasons Pogo also have broadcast Pokemon in Tami and Telugu also.

In 2014, Pokemon have again return to Cartoon Network in July 2014. Cartoon network had started broadcasting Pokemon the series Black and white in July 2014. Cartoon network had completed run till August by broadcast at night. But this season have only available on two languages Hind and English feed. They have discontinued Tamil and Telugu language dud.

Disney India

In 2014 Disney India had bagged the right of Pokemon but they did not get the rights of previous Tamil,Telugu, and Hindi dubbed rights. The started broadcast again from season 1 in Hungama with new voice artists for Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Hungama aired Pokemon from season 1 to 7 and Season 17.
