Point Pleasant Beach Fire Department
The Point Pleasant Beach Fire Department is a fully volunteer fire department protecting the residents and visitors of the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. The Fire Department consists of two independently incorporated fire companies.
Ocean Fire Company Number 1 was the first to incorporate in 1885. This was the first fire company to officially incorporate in Ocean County.
In 1907 the Point Pleasant and Bay Head Fire Company incorporated after an intense fire destroyed the corner of Arnold and Bay Avenues. This fire company eventually became known as Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company Number 2.
Together Ocean Fire Company Number 1 and Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company Number 2 make up the Point Pleasant Beach Fire Department.
The fire department consists of one Chief, one Assistant Chief, two Deputy Chiefs, two Captains, and four Lieutenants.
There are over 50 ACTIVE firefighters which are all volunteer. The department has one tower ladder, one telesquirt, three engines, a utility, and two transport vans. The current officers leading the fire department are; Chief Kyle Grace, Assistant Chief John M. DeMillio, Deputy Chiefs Vincent Storino and Michael Brodeur, Captains Matt Zahorsky and William Leonard, Lieutenants Frank Finn, Joseph Michigan, John Pasola, and Michael Oltrichter. This fire department handles approximately 380 alarms per year.
