Planet Cazmo

Planet Cazmo is a Massively multiplayer online role-playing game involving a virtual world containing a range of online games and activities, developed by Planet Cazmo LLC (formerly Pileated Pictures). Players use 3D people avatars and the virtual world is set on an alien planet. The game beta tested November 3, 2007, through December 12, 2008. While free memberships are available, revenue is predominantly raised through paid memberships which allow players to access a range of additional features, (such as the ability to purchase extra virtual clothing, furniture, and in-game pets, for their cazmo through the use of in-game currency). A major focus of The Developers has been on child safety, with a number of features introduced to the game to facilitate this — including offering a "Safe Chat" mode, whereby users select their comments from a menu; filtering that prevents swearing and the revelation of personal information; and moderators (along with ambassadors) who patrol the game to ensure safety.

In 2009, the company signed with Tommy Mottola's Mottola Co. to produce concerts in the game's virtual environment.

Ambassadors(PCAP)

PCAP stands for "Planet Cazmo Ambassador Program." Ambassadors are ordinary players who have been selected by the Planet Cazmo's "Chief Ambassador" and his agents for extraordinary help towards the game, such as; advertising the game on "blogs" and other sites in order to promote the game and draw visitor's attention to it. This is known as "Spreading the World." Also they are experienced players who know a lot of the game and help to patrol around the virtual world.

There are 3 types of ambassador. The first is "Purple Ambassador." A purple ambassador is someone who has just been selected to become an ambassador. Purple is the lowest rank of ambassador. Purple ambassadors have a purple ambassador hat and an ambassador speech bubble for their 3d avatar. The next rank is "Silver Ambassador." Silver ambassadors are the experienced ambassadors who continue to help promote the virtual world. They wear a silver ambassador hat. The final rank is "Gold Ambassador." Gold ambassadors are long-standing ambassadors who also continue with their extraordinary help towards the game.

Ambassadors have certain benefits such as; all ambassadors can send out "PCAP Gifts." A PCAP gift is given to a player by an ambassador for a random act of kindness. The gift can be any item of clothing for the players 3d avatar. Ambassadors can also send a "Mod Message" to a player who is disobeying the rules. Such as; offending other players, sharing personal details or using sexually mature content. A mod message appears on the players screen when it is sent. It says "Admin Message" at the top and in the box it will tell the player what they are doing wrong. This can be used as a warning. If a player consists on disobeying the rules, a gold ambassador had the benefit of being able to kick that player from the server. Only the most trusted ambassadors who have proved they can handle these powers are given the title of gold ambassador to ensure that this power is not abused. If it ever was, a moderator of the game would be able to check the chat log at the time and assess if the kick was appropriate.

Moderators

Moderators on Planet Cazmo are workers of the game. They help to patrol around the game ensuring child safety. The team of moderators work at the Planet Cazmo headquarters in Shelburne Falls. Each moderator can be recognised by their moderator logo which is indicated on the upper right corner of their player card. Moderators often log in to the public servers where they discuss ideas with players, take feedback of recent parties and generally talk to everyone. Moderators have benefits such as; being able to kick a player from the server, banning players temporarily, and muting players. These powers are rarely used and are only used on those players that consistently insult other players or break any of the other rules.

Updates

Cazmo updates usually every Friday. Updates can be from a concert update to just new clothes in the Cazmo Shop!

Concerts

Cazmo features concerts which include a variety of different singers. Including, Shakira, B.o.B, Jason Derulo and Soulja Boy Tellem'. At concerts, friends can hang out with each other, listen to the music and even get the chance to talk to some of the artists. Each concert plays on a loop where a song from the artist(s) is played and then a brief period is held from 10-20 minutes until the next song comes on. After the artist(s) have finished their selected songs then the show will close from 2-3 hours until the whole loop is played again. Sometimes, actual artists such as Soulja Boy Tellem' roam around the game talking to his/her fans. This is not a programmed avatar but in fact the actual artist. Cazmo concerts are held in Planet Cazmo's "arena." There are a variety of arenas to choose from in case one arena gets to crowded, causing the game to lag.
