History
Erik Dodier and Thomas Obrey formed the company in August 1994 in Dover, New Hampshire, as a production company specializing in the design and development of customized interactive multimedia applications for employee training, trade show displays, sales pitches and many other uses.Its first client was Bus-Tech in Burlington, MA. The company followed by developing interactive multimedia programs for the Portsmouth Herald’s “Bridge to the Seacoast” web site and an interactive catalog for Neslab Instruments.
Within five years of its founding, the company had grown to employ 20 people.In 2004 it developed an e-commerce site for Ecco USA that ties into real-time back-end inventory systems. The site incorporates two-way inventory feeds and integration with order management for fulfillment and automatically updates online order status.By 2010, the company had grown to between $7 and $10 million in revenues with 54 employees. It has been profitable every year since it was founded and posted double digit growth in revenues for the past four years.
The company released “Bzzy” in April 2011, an app for Android phones that is designed to improve driver safety. The Bzzy app automatically responds to an incoming text message with a text stating that the recipient is busy and will respond later so it doesn’t leave the sender hanging for a response.AppBrain, reviewing the product, said: “Bzzy is simple, smart and customizable. It tells your texting friends to “buzz off” for the time being and why.”Bzzy was the winner in the mobile category in the 2011 Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange Annual Interactive Awards.
In 2011 the company received a grant from the New Hampshire Job Training Fund to boost training for its 60-person work force.It was awarded the 2011 Business of the Year in the Business Services Category by Business NH Magazine.
