Pete Trabucco
Pete Trabucco (born July 16, 1959) is an American book author and freelance writer who has had over 60 national (and international) articles published in various aviation, space, health and sports magazines. Throughout his life, Trabucco has made a living in the advertising, broadcasting, healthcare and aviation industries.
Early life
Pete Trabucco was born in Staten Island, New York. In 1982, he received a degree in English and Speech Theatre Media from Kean University in Union, New Jersey. While at Kean, Trabucco began focus in broadcast media as a disc jockey and public relations director for the school’s radio station. He varsity lettered in tennis and baseball while attending Kean. After graduation, he began work as a sales manager and radio personality for WJDM Radio in Elizabeth, NJ and later at WXMC Radio in Parsippany, New Jersey. He also worked at WRFM Radio (Now Power 105FM) in New York City.
Career
Trabucco served as Chief of Staff for the N.J. State General Assembly in the 19th and 34th legislative districts from December 1989 to June 1995, aiding both Assemblywoman Marion Crecco and Assemblyman Stephen A. Mikulak. In April 1998, he was hired as regional director with the American Heart Association where he ran the New Jersey hospital training network and had a hand in lobbying for several health bills including the Automated External Defibrillation bill (PAD), which was signed into law on the federal level in 1999.
Trabucco was also a GOP candidate for the office of Middlesex County, New Jersey Board of Chosen Freeholders in 2004. He received over 92,000 votes. With just 50,000 registered Republicans in the country, additional votes were cast by independent and Democrat voters that year. In 2005, he was employed as the aviation piston oil sales and marketing director for Air BP Corporation (formerly British Petroleum) and his primary duties was as a sales manager and local media ad buyer for the companies piston engine oil program.
Currently, Trabucco works full time as Northeast sales director at CRS Jet Spares Corporation where he travels around Northeast America and Canada, promoting CRS services and attending various air shows and aviation conferences. He is also a licensed private pilot and a major in the US Air Force Auxiliary New Jersey Wing CAP (Civil Air Patrol) program based out of McGuire Air Force Base in Wrightstown, New Jersey. He was a former Squadron Commander (1990–2000) and has been twice awarded the Air Force Chief of Staff award at the Pentagon for his service to this organization.
His book "America's Top Roller Coasters and Amusement Parks" was released from Tate Publishing in August 2009. In his book, he teaches people how to overcome their fear of rollercoaster’s and lists the best roller coasters and amusement parks around North America. He is currently on tour promoting his book and has appeared on over 20 television and 30 radio stations around the country. He also has several TV and radio appearances set up for 2011. All profits of the book (from author royalties and book signings) are going to selected charities around the country. As of 2010, Pete is also working on two other projects: A book on his flying experiences with interviews from celebrities in the aviation and space industry and another book devoted to those who love ballparks, football stadiums and the majestic cathedrals of sport.
Personal life
Trabucco has been married since 1988 and has one daughter. He enjoys flying airplanes, tennis, thrill rides, acting and talking politics in his spare time. He has also been an assistant coach to both high school and college sports teams in baseball and football.
