Peiremans

Peiremans (or Peiremans+) is a power pop band founded in Basque Country; the band sings in Basque. The band is a supergroup, having been founded by members of other Basque bands: Gorka Urbizu from the internationally successful alternative rock band Berri Txarrak, Imanol from Bide Ertzean, and Txiki, a former member of 1990s Basque punk act Kashbad as well as Balerdi Balerdi.

The band is named after Frédéric Peiremans, an unlucky football player who came to Real Sociedad (the main football team in Donostia-San Sebastian) and broke his knee at the first training session. He could never play a simple match with his team so he was left to second division's Eibar, where he decided to leave football due to a deep depression.

The band's debut was rated 11th best album of the year in 2005 by Basque-language music magazine Entzun.
